Karen E. Chang is a graduating senior at the University of California, Berkeley, where she is pursuing a double major in Integrative Human Biology and Public Health. With a passion for community health and its intersection with molecular biology, Karen is committed to pursuing a career in this field. Currently, Karen is working as a Research Assistant at the Mishler Lab at UC Berkeley, where she is revising international floristic databases on the West African flora and conducting statistical analysis via R to investigate relationships between the invasive potentials of the identified introduced flora and their functional traits. She has also helped edit research abstracts and has been featured as a co-author on a submitted paper. Prior to this, Karen worked as a Student Assistant at the Donner Lab at UC Berkeley, where she assisted in organizing Dr. Peter Duesberg's Endnote files and assisting in files regarding DNA manipulation and genome alterations. She also worked as a Research Assistant at the Tseng Lab (CareXC Project) at UC Berkeley, where she worked under Dr. Winston Tseng in assisting Ann Ting with various tasks related to creating care plans for patients with osteoporosis, as well as caregivers, and managing other administrative tasks for her company CareXC. Karen's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Human Biology and Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, which she is set to complete in December 2022.
